About the Artist
Hi, I’m Linsey!
I’m an artist whose work is deeply shaped by time spent outdoors. I never grow tired of the landscapes that surround us, and I find joy in capturing their expansive beauty through drawing and painting. I tend to work on a small scale, creating pieces rich in detail and centered on intimate compositions— moments that invite the viewer to slow down, look closely, and settle into something quiet and larger than ourselves.
Sisu Studios is named in honor of my grandparents and my childhood spent outside helping on our family farm. Sisu is a Finnish word meaning courage and determination— a quiet resilience that carries people through challenges, whether climbing a mountain, learning something new, or working toward a better world. To me, it also reflects a belief that a life well-lived is one deeply connected to the outdoors.
I grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, and studied art education as well as arts and nonprofit management. I spent 11 years teaching elementary and middle school art before transitioning into nonprofit work in the Gunnison Valley, where I now plan events for Crested Butte Nordic, teach art classes, manage an art business and play outside with my family. We welcomed our son in March of 2026 and I hope to teach him how to use art as a tool for advocacy to protect this beautiful place we call home.
